I've started feeling the babies move over the last day or so and it is absolutely one of the best feelings in the world. It makes me so thankful to be so blessed with a beautiful daughter and these babies.

It also makes me think about Macie and how exciting it was to feel her kick and to see her for the first time and all those wonderful things we have seen and experienced with her.

I just wanted to share one of my favorite pictures.

She was 1 day here.....So tiny. She weighed 6 lbs. 13 ozs.

Just start calling me....

I can't sit for very long, stand for very long, walk for very long, lay a certain way very long and the list could go on and on and on.

I didn't know having 2 versus just carrying 1 could be so different.

I know I'm soooo very blessed to have these babies but I'm absolutely beyond miserable. I don't cook, clean, go any where unless someone drives me. I pretty much work, go home and then sit in my recliner til it is time to go to bed. Some days I have spurts of energy but I wear myself out during that time so I crash pretty hard.

I'm just ready to enjoy being pregnant and to enjoy the fact that I'm going to have two beautiful babies soon.

Where have I been???

Well well well....This will explain it all.........

Yep that's right....TWINS!!! I've known since the middle of February I was pregnant but didn't know til last week that we were going to have two little bundles of joy in October. We were and still are in shock and nervous and every other emotion possible.

I have not been on the internet much at all b/c I've been super duper sick and tired. Most days I haven't even looked at my computer. It is true that you get double everything. HA!

We are beyond excited and can't wait to have them here. I'm 12 weeks today with due date October 20th. Will find out what they are the middle of May.

Knock on wood I've felt a little better today than I have in a while and I'm hoping it isn't just one day and the sickness be back full force tomorrow.

Hope I can get caught up with everyone some time in the near future in the meantime hope you are all doing well.

I have been slacking in the blogging department. I've been sick(again) for about 2 weeks. I'm still fighting it today...sore throat and I'm soooo tired. They say the first year you work in a doctors office you'll stay sick and boy that is the truth.

Anyway--Nick took Macie to the Father/Daughter dance on Saturday. The weather was gorgeous. It has been in the 70s for the past week and I love it! I went shopping and ate at Arby's with Amy while they were gone.

Look at how beautiful my little girl is.....

And in my opinion Nick doesn't look so bad either. :)

Nick really enjoyed it and loves having time with just Macie.

On to other things. I bought Macie's new bedding. HA! I haven't even bought her new furniture yet but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on it. Target had this for $30. And it is a quilt. YAY! I love it. This picture doesn't do it justice.

Other than that I've just been working and then going home and being a lazy bum--I guess b/c of this darn sickness. I hope everyone is doing great!

Why is Macie growing up so fast?

Last night while eating supper she asked for Nick's napkin so he gave it to her b/c she does like wiping her mouth off. Well, she sits back down at her Little Tikes picnic table and proceeds to place the napkin on her lap. We could not help but to laugh and just watch with amazement at how much she is learning and doing these days.

And, after typing this I wish I would have taken a picture. I need to get better at that. :)

We had a pretty uneventful weekend. It was cold so we decided we'd just stick around the house for the most part. I got everything on my list ALMOST done. I have to go buy a clear tote thingy for my earrings...Yes, I have already bought some. I can't stand the thought of just throwing them in the jewelry box so if I can find something that'll work then they will be organized for me to find easier as well. I got a few things cooked and put up in the freezer, cleaned the house....I'd like to do a deep deep cleaning soon but it can wait. I did not get any bread made...I will one day just not right now. I want it to be good so I would like a little more time to find a good recipe that will not let me down.

My parents come for a visit on Monday. Mama had a doctors appointment so while she was there Daddy, Macie and I stopped by to see Amy at work...they were not busy at all so Macie kind of had run of the house. She likes Ms. Lynn so she run back and worth between us and her. After Mama got out of her appt. we headed over to Goody's b/c they are closing and having a huge sale. I got a few things but not much since the prices aren't cheap enough yet. I'll probably go back by there in a few days to see if they've marked things down more. After that we all ate at Cracker Barrel...one of my fav places to eat out..then headed to Amy's to see Cooper. He is getting so big and is sooo cute! He is still in the puppy stage since he is only 3 months old so he likes to play but is so loving.

We are go to Charleston, SC this weekend...and by we I mean me and Nick. This is our first trip alone since Macie was born. I'm soooooo EXCITED I can't hardly stand it. I love spending time with him and I know it'll do us and our marriage good. Macie will be staying with Amy all weekend and my parents will probably come down Saturday to help.

Macie did well in the 2 year old room yesterday. She was only there til lunch. Nick's dad wanted to keep her for the afternoon since they were heading back to VA this morning so today will be the true test.
I just found out we'll be closed Monday for the holiday. I'm planning on deep cleaning the house, finishing my organizing projects, and make some meals to stock pile my freezer. If I get just one of those things done I'll be happy.....
I'm also going to attempt to make bread. Nick would like sourdough but I have to make a sourdough starter and that will take a few days so I'm going to start that and maybe just try plain bread this weekend. I have a bread maker that I've never used and after reading several sites it seems most ladies would rather not use it but I figure I'm going to give it a shot.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Stay warm! I know we are freezing our behinds off around here.....

Woohooo! I'm so glad it is back on.
I just have to say I don't like the new judge...she brings nothing to the table. Just a simple yes or no is about all you get out of her. Wonder how long she'll last?

I do like how they aren't focusing so much on the bad...no I mean terrible...auditions this year. That always bugged me.

I have actually liked a few of the ones they have let thru to "Hollywood".
Can't wait to see them perfrom different songs in a few weeks.

I really need to start updating more frequently.

I've been sick since Monday...I started the sore throat thing Sunday night.
I feel better just still can't talk very well and my breathing is a little rough but all in all I'm good.

I had to stay home with Macie on Tuesday b/c she bit a kid at school on Monday. This was the third day.....she bit twice two different days last week.
So, after thinking about it and have many discussions Nick and I thought maybe she needed to move up to the 2 year old room. Being with kids older may "teach her a lesson" They can at least tell her no.
Well, Macie starts in the 2 year old room today. Nick had to pick her up around 2:30 yesterday afternoon for biting again. He talked with Teresa(the director) and she thought it was a good idea too. Since Macie was the oldest in her class they were afraid she'd bite the really small--like the barely 1 year old--kids. We'll see how this goes. She will also be potty trained. We have to take pull ups and several changes of clothes for them to start trying. UGH....where has time went? She is growing up too fast.

Finally, I'm posting all of my pics. It has been a crazy weekend. I had to work yesterday afternoon and today since we have visitors coming to the office on Tuesday. Anyway, the office had to be in tip top shape and everything needed to be in order. I certainly missed my weekend especially since I now have a sore throat. My hope is that I'll wake up in the morning and it'll magically feel better--what are the chances, right? I can dream though!

I found this in the mix of all the blankets and was wondering what I could do with it so it could be seen. It was given to us as a wedding gift from Amy. I decided it would look good in our bedroom.

I got my ears pierced when I was in 6th grade but didn't take care of them as I should have and they got infected and....well....you get the point. I've been thinking over the last few months I should get my ears pierced again....I finally did it! I have to wear these little earrings for 6 weeks and then I can start changing them out. And, this time I'm taking care of them.

Saturday--Jan. 10th

Nick and I went out to dinner while Amy kept Macie for us. When we got home she was just being silly and stood up on Nick's feet. I ran to get the camera but missed the opportunity. She did however start posing for me. I got some cute shots....

Sunday--Jan. 11th

On top of going to work today and not feeling so well. I made chili for supper and put the rest of it in the freezer for Chili dogs and the times when I just have to have chili but would rather not have to make it. There is also some beef broth.

I'm a sucker for a good bargain especially if I can do alittle work to it and make it my own.

Right now Macie has dark furniture and we'd like for her to have white when we change her room out to her "big girl" room. We'll save her crib and dresser for baby #2. Beds are not cheap and add in a dresser, nightstand, etc and it can add up. Although I probably will not skemp on the dresser and such I would like to find a bargain for the headboard/footboard.
I've been looking around and I'm just amazed out how many neat ideas are out there.
Here is one I think I'm going to use for Macie's room. Nick can build the headboard and once I pick out her new bedding and colors I'll decide what fabric I'll buy for it.

And, here are a few I really like and will keep in mind for the future.

He has installed my new sink and faucet.

We've had both for a while but didn't want to install them til we finished the cabinets which we finished in Feb. but life got in the way and now 10 months later it's getting done. Well worth the wait though.

I might be crazy but I just can't help myself.

While browsing around a shop in Jacksonville, FL a while back I had the pleasure of smelling one of these and it smelled so GOOD. I didn't buy one b/c they are $25...Yikes--I don't even like saying that. And, you just never know if they'll actually smell that good while burning.

After looking around on-line to try to find one cheaper and not being successful I gave up. WELL, today a mom on one of message boards posted on just how wonderful these candles really are and just went on and on. So, what did I do.....started on my search again. This time Ebay came thru for me. I have placed a bid for 5 of them at just over $40. Can't beat that. So, I'm hoping I'm the big fat winner. Please hope with me....I REALLLLLY want these candles.

What a busy day! I was the first one up and ate a Marshmallow Crescent Puff and had a great cup of coffee.

Then, I cooked a good lunch of ham, mashed potatos, corn and rolls.

After lunch we headed to the mall so Macie could have her picture made with Santa. We waited for about an hour to see him ...luckily she was pretty good the entire time and wasn't scared of Santa either.

At about 6 o'clock Amy came over to take our Christmas picture for our cards. It took 2 hours to get these pictures....it was not fun but we got some good ones and made some memories in the process.

I'm exhausted after 2 hours of trying to get a good picture and then getting aggravated at trying to pick out the perfect card so I'm going to bed NOW!

I have been all smiles lately. For the first time in a long time I'm HAPPY beyond belief and it feels good. I'm falling more and more in love with Nick every day when I didn't know it was even possible. He seems to always amaze me at how wonderful he is and how he is such a good dad and husband. Macie is the sweetest kid I know.....she makes me act like a kid more and more which I love. Her smile is amazing and her laugh is the best sound in the world.
This feels good and I hope that it will only continue to get better. I'm truly BLESSED beyond belief and I thank GOD for this wonderful, crazy, amazing life.

I had a wonderful weekend!!

I was a bridesmaid in a friend from high schools wedding. Cortney was the beautiful bride and two of the other bridesmaids were good friends as well...Amy and Laura. It was so much fun catching up with them since it has been way too long since we have done so. Just like all lasting friendships it was like we never had been apart. It was great! I also got to see several other people I grew up with and hadn't seen in FOREVER! What a great way to spend my Friday and Saturday.

I completely finished my Christmas shopping yesterday so it was well worth getting up so early. We did sleep in til 4:15 b/c Nick turned the alarm clock off but luckily we were quick and made it to Amy's by 4:30(Sorry Amy for making you wait 30 minutes on us)

Anyway, I'm super duper behind in posting pictures so this is going to be a catch up on that.

Halloween at Wild Adventures...We went to see how they decorated for Hollow Scream but were pretty disappointed when there were no scary decorations.

Macie had a fall festival at her school. We blew threw the games in about 10 minutes since she really isn't into that kind of thing yet but it was nice of them to have it for everyone.

Emma's 3rd b-day party was a "carnival" complete with funnel cake and a balloon maker to name a few. It was a gorgeous day to be outside. Macie's favorite part was Ms. Jennie giving her popcorn and getting see "Uncle" Jeremy a lot.

For Halloween Macie was a BEE...what a cute bee she was. I didn't take very many pictures(I'm not sure why) but she was super adorable. Trunk or Treat at the church was nice and I hope we'll do the same next year when she'll be ready to grab all that candy. Afterwards we went by to see Aunt Amy and her friend Ms. Freddie so they could see her dressed up...they, of course, thought she was the cutest bee EVER.

Macie's art work was featured as the first ever "Masterpiece of the Week" I may have Picasso on my hands.

Our first fire ever...this was a couple weeks ago. It was cold....probably not cold enough to have a fire but we couldn't resist. We enjoyed it yet haven't been able to do another one...Nick actually wore shorts today. Our crazy South GA weather.

I am stuffed! I've been grazing all day. It sure was YUMMY, though!

Oh, We rode around some this afternoon and happen to ride by Best Buy...at 3:30pm there was already about 10 people with their chairs and blankets in line out by the door. Can you say CRAZY!!! LOL
We are crazy enough to get up early to go to the sales but I think that is a little crazier. :)

We have our list of what we want and a list of the stores in order of importance to us so we'll be ready at 4am to hit the road and hit the stores.
Since 3:30 is going to be really EARLY for me I'm hitting the hay.....

The below picture was me one month before Macie was born and about a week before I went in to have her I cut my hair even shorter. I can't decide if I want to go short again. I have a wedding to be in on Dec. 6th but after that I'm thinking of going short again. I don't know...I usually just do it and think about it later but this time I can't decide.

We bought a car this weekend. Don't get excited....this is it.............

1994 Honda Accord EX Coupe

We got it for $100.00 though so with a little TLC this should be a pretty fine car. It runs so basically all the work that has to be done will be on the exterior. We can't decide if we want to keep it and drive it for awhile or sale it as soon as all the repairs are done. We'll probably wait til it's all done to decide for sure. This car does bring back memories for me. My first car was a '95 4 door same color and all. Oh how I wish I would have kept that car. Crazy me....live and learn I guess.
Nick will do all of the work himself so I'll post pictures of the progress.

Tomorrow it will be just me and Macie. The daycare is closed for training so of course I took the day off to spend with her. Not sure what we are going to do yet but I'd like to take her to the park at least. I do know one thing I'm not going to do and that is work on my to do list. It can wait. I have accomplished a few things on it so it is slowly shrinking and all of those things will be waiting on me anyway.

Not the video I wanted to post but the other will not let me so this will have to do.

Kathy cooked these little pecan pies over the weekend and brought me one. YUM-O! She says they are so good because she used my parents pecans which according to her are the best ever. I guess all that hard work as a pecan farmer pays off when someone tells you that.

**The above picture is what they will look like with the original recipe**
I cooked both on Monday and like the mini pecan pies better but brought her one of the ones that are in the picture and she likes them better so try both if you can.

Prep: 15 min., Bake: 10 min. plus 22 min. per batch, Cool: 30 min.
Yield: Makes about 6 dozen

3 cups chopped pecans
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
5 (2.1-oz.) packages frozen mini-phyllo pastry shells

Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350º. Bake pecans in a single layer in a shallow pan 8 to 10 minutes or until toasted and fragrant.
2. Stir together sugar and corn syrup in a medium bowl. Stir in pecans, eggs, and next 3 ingredients.
3. Spoon about 1 heaping teaspoonful pecan mixture into each pastry shell, and place on 2 large baking sheets.
4. Bake at 350º for 20 to 22 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks, and let cool completely (about 30 minutes). Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

**Mini Pecan Pies: Substitute 1 1/2 (8-oz.) packages frozen tart shells for frozen mini-phyllo pastry shells. Prepare recipe as directed through Step 2. Spoon about 1/4 cup pecan mixture into each tart shell. Place tart shells on a large baking sheet. Proceed with recipe as directed in Step 4, increasing bake time to 25 to 30 minutes or until set. Garnish with currants, if desired. Makes 1 dozen. Prep: 15 min., Bake: 30 min

I can't believe they are actually going to do something about it or at least they are acting like they are.

Five Lowndes County gas stations were named among 166 in the state that have been asked to turn over sales records to determine whether they inflated gas prices following hurricane damage to Gulf Coast oil refineries.

According to the Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs (GOCA), the state has subpoenaed records from stores as a result of more than 1,500 complaints from customers who reported gas gouging after Gov. Sonny Perdue declared a state of emergency Sept. 12. GOCA spokesperson Kathy Mendelson said that the reported gas prices around the state were as high as $8.39 per gallon.
Other area service stations under investigation include three in Lanier County, one in Brooks County and one in Berrien County.
“The results of the investigations will be based on the documents that are returned,” Mendelson said. “The stations are being asked for the prices they charged on given dates and what they were charged by their supplier. If there is sufficient evidence of gouging, they are potentially subject to fines of $2,000 to $25,000 per violation, as well as restitution to customers who were victims of price gouging.”
The names of the 166 gas stations will not be released until the investigation is complete. The investigation is expected to take several months.
According to the declared state of emergency, “businesses may not sell any goods or services necessary to protect the health, safety or property of citizens at prices higher than the prices at which those same goods or services were offered before the declaration of a state of emergency. The only exception allowed is if the business can document that the price was increased only in an amount which accurately reflects an increase in the cost of the goods or services to the person selling the goods or services or an increase in the cost of transporting the goods or service into the area. Price increases are not allowed on stock that was on hand before the emergency was declared.”
The declaration added that proof of the reason for any price increase must be readily available when the Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs requests it.
Perdue renewed the state of emergency Friday, Oct. 10. It will stay in effect for another 30 days, if necessary.

I've been wanting to try these since seeing Bobby Flay's show Throwdown about a month or so ago when he went up against a lady that is the queen of dumplings(and not our good ole' southern dumplins either)

Anyway, I thought they'd be hard b/c on the show they made their on dough and I'm just not up for that kind of challenge right now since I have a 20 month old always attached to my leg while I'm in the kitchen.
We gave them a try on Sunday and they are so good and actually pretty easy to make. Definitely a recipe I'm keeping on hand.

I wish I would have taken a picture of my own but this will have to do

Perfect Potstickers
1/2 pound ground pork

1 egg, lightly beaten

2 teaspoons ketchup

1 teaspoon yellow mustard

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon light brown sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper(I cut this in half)

35 to 40 small wonton wrappers

Water, for sealing wontons

3 to 4 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying

1 1/3 cups chicken stock, divided

Preheat oven to 200 degrees F.

Combine the first 11 ingredients in a medium-size mixing bowl (pork through cayenne). Set aside.
To form the dumplings, remove 1 wonton wrapper from the package, covering the others with a damp cloth. Brush 2 of the edges of the wrapper lightly with water. Place 1/2 rounded teaspoon of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper. Fold over, seal edges, and shape as desired. Set on a sheet pan and cover with a damp cloth. Repeat procedure until all of the filling is gone. Heat a 12-inch saute pan over medium heat. Brush with vegetable oil once hot. Add 8 to 10 potstickers at a time to the pan and cook for 2 minutes, without touching. Once the 2 minutes are up, gently add 1/3 cup chicken stock to the pan, turn the heat down to low, cover, and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove wontons to a heatproof platter and place in the warm oven. Clean the pan in between batches by pouring in water and allowing the pan to deglaze. Repeat until all the wontons are cooked. Serve immediately.

I'm going to have several blog entries today so get ready.

I'm in a kind of hyper mood for some reason...okay so maybe I do know the reason. After getting so sick last week I kind of lost motivation to lose weight so guess what I pigged out this weekend and said I'll get back to it on Tuesday (I was off Monday) YAY for me I stuck to my word and got back on the band wagon yesterday. I hadn't weighed myself since I got sick and was certainly fearing the dreaded scales. This morning I was like just do it and face the fact that I need to work a little harder. Welllll, lucky me I've actually lost another pound(I don't know how but I'm not complaining) and I feel great about it. I was so worried for no reason at all. 12 pounds down and 9 more to go to reach my first goal.

I don't think I've mentioned that once I reach my first goal I get a prize of sorts. I've been wanting a screen for my fireplace that is about $50.00...I know that isn't really--in the grand scheme of things--that much money but it was a good prize for my first goal and it has helped me stay motivated a little more than I probably would without that prize at the end of the tunnel.

This is the screen I want and I can't wait to make that trip to Target to pick it up...

The BIG game is tonight

This is huge deal for most of my home town since it is the county school vs. the city school.

The game will be aired on ESPNU tonight @ 8pm so if you like football and are able to watch check it out. We'll be watching from our living room as well b/c tickets were beyond hard to get this year.

Where have I been?

Well, since Monday I've been sick, sick, sick and did I mention sick. I've missed work which I really don't like doing b/c I literally couldn't get myself up and dressed much less in the car and to work. I'm feeling better today but still weak and tired. I'm alert enough to function but I'm very fortunate that I have my own office space away from the craziness of a doctors office.

Other than that we have just been in our day to day routine stuff for the most part.

Macie has become excited about dogs these past few weeks. If she sees one any where even on tv she starts making these really funny scruffy barking like noises kind of under her breathe. She doesn't like dogs if they get close to her but for some reason if they are at a distance she is okay. Nick has been Mom and Dad for the last few days...Tues. when he picked her up from school she spotted a small dog tied by a house near the daycare and started her little noise. The next day when they rode by that house again on the way to school Macie started with her little noises but this time the dog wasn't there. Smart little britches. Kids are amazing!!

It makes me miss my two doggies. We had to give them to a very loving family after we had Macie b/c Lucas jumped on us way to much so we were afraid of being in our backyard with Macie and well Leroy is a Great Dane and could have eaten us out of a house and home. I love them both still and miss them very much. I always wonder how those two squirts are doing. They became such good friends and we were very blessed to have one family take them both.

How we ended up with both of the boys......

Lucas---he was just 3 weeks old when we got him from a friend of mine b/c his mommy just didn't want to take care of him. We had to bottle feed him for a little while but as you can see in the picture he was a healthy boy after we got him and full of energy.

Leroy---we were kind of thinking we wanted another dog for Lucas to have a playmate so I started looking around and after awhile we just kind of forgot about the idea. I guess maybe a few weeks or so later Nick's co-worker told him about this Great Dane that had just come up to his house and had stayed around for weeks so they knew then that someone had just dropped him off. He was so skinny and so pitiful...he'd just whine and really all he wanted was some attention and love. Nick and I decided we'd take him...boy we were not thinking of how big he was going to be but we loved him just the same. After we got him home and fed him good and show him that he would have love and attention he turned out to be the sweetest Great Dane you'll ever meet. So laid back and easy going. Not a care in the world since he knew he was being taken care of.

I'll post some pictures of "the boys" later.

Oh how I miss them both.

Last night.......

I went in to check on Macie after I got home b/c it was about 8:45 and her bedtime is at 8:30. Well, she'd taken off her diaper, AGAIN--she did it a few nights ago. This time she'd pooped though and it was on her legs and butt. Picked her up to wipe her off some more and it was in her hair too as well as on her hands. Can you say----NASTY!!! She had to have a bath but boy was she not happy and she was freezing. Here are a few pictures of her all bundled up in towels while we waited on her bath water and notice her hair...yep, that is poop!! My poor baby was miserable.

Finally watched this tonight.....

I know I know I'm way behind in watching movies but this one is worth the watch.

This may help me get caught up though....Don't know if you guys have used or even heard of redbox. $1.00 DVDs. Ours is located in Wal-Mart so it is so convenient. I have to thank my friend Amy for telling us about it. Also, when you sign up just by giving your email address they will give you one free rental.

It was a little on the cool side here today....

I love when it starts to feel like FALL!

Macie and I woke up early and hit Chick-fil-A for our Saturday morning treat...Chicken Minis. Stopped off at hubby's work to see him for a few minutes and then headed to a few yard sales. I lost a super cheap and much wanted item and was bummed the rest of the morning. Oh well~next time maybe.

My parents are here for a visit. We went out to eat at Cracker Barrel for their delicious chicken and rice that they only serve on Saturdays...it's mine, my dads and my sisters favorite!!

I didn't do so good by eating out so much today but tomorrow will be much better.

I started watching what I eat and riding my bicycle one day last week. I always feel so much better when I do plus I need to lose weight. I'm in my best friend from high school wedding in December so I don't have long. I've kept it up so far. Down only 2 pounds but I'm not complaining.

We have had a super busy week already and it seems it isn't going to tapper off till Sunday. Nick has a yard to mow every night this week which leaves him usually getting home after dark. He knows business is about to slow down though so he doesn't mind the work. I need to do some major cleaning out in my house so I've been doing a little bit every night. I need to work on hairbows so I can get them on the internet to sell. It's just crazy around our house. Macie has been super sweet and just goes with the flow....THANK GOD for an awesome sweet beautiful daughter.

I will have to share a little story about Macie. She was so sweet yesterday...she was running around the house being silly as usual and every so often would just come grab me and just squeeze me as tight as her little arms would let her. I just love it!!

A friend of mine just emailed this to me and I just have to share it.

Why females should avoid a girls night out after they are married....

If this does not make you laugh out loud, you have lost your sense of humor.

The other night I was invited out for a night with the 'girls.' I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, 'I promise!'Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily.

Around 3 a.m., a bit loaded, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hallway started up and cuckooed 3 times. Quickly, realizing my husband would probably wake up, I cuckooed another 9 times. I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution, in order to escape a possible conflict with him. Even when totally smashed... 3 cuckoos plus 9 cuckoos totals 12 cuckoos = MIDNIGHT!

The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, I told him 'MIDNIGHT'... he didn't seem pissed off in the least.

Whew, I got away with that one!

Then he said 'We need a new cuckoo clock.' When I asked him why, he said, 'Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, then said 'oh f**k.' Cuckooed 4 more times, cleared its throat, cuckooed another three times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then tripped over the coffee table and farted.

I have to vent again.
It is only 9:15 and someone has already called up here and cussed at me along with telling me they are never coming back here ever again. Why? Because they don't want to pay their bill and would rather jump from doctor to doctor then to take responsibility for it.
So much for staying calm today. I really woke up this morning in a wonderful mood, cleaned my house, stopped by the store, it was great! Amazing how one person can just ruin it for you.

STRESS! STRESS! STRESS!

That's me today!

The patient statements for the office went out last week so I've been overwhelmed with phone calls. That usually doesn't bother me but it seems like everyone is wanting to be so mean. I'm not a mean person and I'm more than willing to help so I just don't understand how someone that doesn't even know me can just start in with the harsh tone in their voice and continue even after I've apologized or said I'd correct the mistake.

When I've stressed I get a headache and my back hurts...not good!

What a day it has been....

Last night my dad called about 9:30 and told us we'd better get gas b/c prices would be shooting up by about a dollar this morning. Of course, we took off and filled all the vehicles up as well as the gas cans. Gas was up from $3.67 to about $3.99 in most places this morning. At lunch they were up a little above $4.00 and in a near by town, which has only one gas station, it was $5.99. I haven't heard of price changes in the last few hours but have heard a lot of the stations are out of gas and will not have any until the end of the weekend.

I think we'll be staying at home for the most part this weekend...can't take any chances.

I had to leave the house about 5 to pick Macie up from school and this is how all of the gas stations look. This station is normally empty!!

Well, on a lighter note...I cooked yummy sloppy joes for supper tonight and just wanted to share the recipe. I do cut this recipe in half otherwise you could feed a ton of folks.

Sloppy Joe Di Maggios
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2 pounds lean ground sirloin or ground turkey
1 packages beef or pork hot dogs, sliced 1/2-inch thick
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon steak seasoning (recommended: Montreal Steak Seasoning by McCormick)
1 tablespoon chili powder
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 (14.5-ounce) can tomato sauce
9 soft burger rolls - like at the ballpark

Heat the extra-virgin olive oil, a turn of the pan, in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add meat and crumble as it browns. Add chopped hot dogs after 3 to 4 minutes then cook 3 to 4 minutes more. Add the onions to the pan and cook to soften, 5 to 6 minutes more. In a bowl mix the spices, sugar, Worcestershire and tomato sauce. Pour sauce over the meat and simmer a few minutes to combine flavors. Slop onto buns and serve.

This is one of the easiest and yummiest recipes I use in the crockpot.

Easy Mushroom Chicken

1 boneless chicken breast per person
1 can cream of mushroom soup per person

Cook on low all day (I put it on around 7:30 am when I leave for work and turn it off around 6 when I get home), stir to shred chicken, serve over white rice.

For variety, you can add 1 can of cheddar cheese soup per 2 cans of cream soup, and serve the cheesy chicken over wide noodles.

I ate lunch at a new restaurant in town...Pita Pit
It is kind of like a subway but they put it in a pita. I got the "Chicken Crave" which is grilled chicken and ham and added mushrooms. It was pretty yummy and I'm sure I'll eat there again.

I had to pick Macie up from daycare about 2:45 b/c she had bitten twice. I don't know what I will do with her. She doesn't understand after the fact. I did ask her to bite my finger and she just looked at me like I have 4 heads so I don't know if she realizes what she is doing.

I had to go to Wal-Mart after I picked Macie up to buy a few things. I decided I'd buy her a potty chair. Brought it home and thought okay, now is the time to start if any so I took it out of the box and put it together....took her to the bathroom and realized...oops, I was a little too late. Maybe tomorrow will be a better time to start.

We made an easy $50.00 today. My sister bought a new car from a guy we know so they gave us what they call a "bird dog fee" I'm certainly not complaining....It'll pay for my Wal-Mart trip.

After cooking supper and getting all that mess cleaned up afterwards I got the grass cut. I am anxious to see the front yard in daylight though...it was dark about 20 minutes of the time I was cutting. Well, I'm still not done for today...I'm heading out to the garage to go through the mess of stuff for our yard sale on Saturday.

Well, I finally decided I'd join in on the blogging fun. I've been reading several blogs for quite some time and have never really wanted to write down my days experiences, etc for everyone to read because I'm not very exciting but what the heck.

I will post about today later tonight once my day is pretty much complete.

I guess I will leave this post with 20 things about me.

1. I'm 27 years old
2. Married 5 years to a wonderful man that is absolutely the love of my life
3. I have one daughter that is 1 1/2 that you will hear about a lot.
4. I love to cook and try out new recipes so I will probably share them.
5. Photography is very fascinating to me but I don't take near enough pictures.
6. I have two older sisters.
7. I'm a homebody for sure!
8. I love taking naps and sleeping in but don't get them very often(see #3)
9. I work as a medical biller for a private practice...most days I love it.
10. I read when I get a chance which isn't very often.
11. I love love love Paula Deen!!!
12. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do...any where, any time.
13. I hate laundry and I'm very thankful that my husband does it all.
14. I wear flip flops year round
15. I love the summer but hate the heat
16. I'm a country girl
17. Trying new restaurants with my hubby is always fun and exciting.
18. If I would let them, cookbooks would take over my kitchen.
19. I have one niece and two nephews
20. I love shopping when I can find a good bargain.
